About Campus Announcements

Campus Announcements is the electronic announcements system we use here at Simmons to keep the students, faculty, and staff informed about what's going on around Campus and in the wider community. You will find general campus information on upcoming events and workshops, student group meetings, opportunities to volunteer, recent sports scores, and much more... You'll also find important school announcements, such as emergency closings, health advisories, student employement announcements, technology advisories, and other important information.

Announcements are posted several times every day when school is in session, so it is a good idea to check back regularly to keep up-to-date. You can also subscribe to the Campus Announcements RSS feed* so that you don't have to go to the website to see if there are new postings.

Campus Announcements Email List

In addition to the website and RSS feed, every current student is automatically subscribed to the Campus Announcement email list. The announcements are sent to your Simmons email address, though you can set up your email preferences to have them forwarded to another email address. Because the Campus Announcements system serves as the official notification system for the school, you cannot unsubscribe from the announcements email while you are a student.

After you graduate, you may continue to receive the announcements until your Simmons student email account is deleted (up to 3 months after graduation). If you have set up forwarding, be sure to remove it after graduation if you prefer not to receive the announcements any longer. (If you are still receiving announcements after 3 months, please contact the help desk to have your address manually removed from the system.)

Viewing Campus Announcements

Campus Announcements can be viewed in several ways. The MySimmons homepage displays the last 20 announcements. You can also browse by category, by date, or view the archives in the order of posting.

Submitting an Announcement

If you would like to submit an announcement to Campus Announcements, you can do so through our online announcement submission form (login required). If your event is open to the wider community, you may also wish to submit it to the Community Events Calendar.
