Phone Caller Job Description:

  1. Serve as an ambassador to Simmons alumnae/i and as a student fundraiser for the College.
  2. Cultivate and maintain positive relations with alumnae/i and friends of the College.
  3. Connect alumnae/i and serve as a source of information about The Simmons Fund and campus life.
  4. Educate alumnae/i and friends about the importance of The Simmons Fund.
  5. Solicit and encourage gifts to The Simmons Fund.
  6. Represent Simmons College at Advancement events and/or functions.
  7. Responsible for gathering and updating accurate data for our alumnae/i during each phone call.
  8. Refer any questions, concerns, and/or problems that a contact may have to the appropriate staff members.

Qualifications: Callers must possess the following qualities:

  1. Must be currently enrolled as a Simmons College undergraduate or graduate student.
  2. Must be an outgoing individual who is enthusiastic about Simmons College.
  3. Must be able to present the College and its mission in a positive manner.
  4. Must be articulate and have command of the English language.  
  5. Must possess the confidence necessary to ask for specific gift amounts.

Work Hours:  Students choose 2-3 shifts per week.  The Program hours are Sundays, 5:30p.m.-8:30p.m.  And Mondays through Thursdays, 6:30p.m.-9:30p.m.
