The guidelines for the next round of diversity funding are now available on the DC website. As you will see, TDC will give funding priority over the next two years (October 2005 - June 30, 2007) to recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff from diverse and traditionally underrepresented (in the United States) backgrounds. The documents on the website contain all the information you will need to proceed with your funding requests. The process will be very similar to what was in place last year.

Forms are available online. Forms are only accessible to members of the Simmons community, and you will be prompted to login to access the forms; your username and password are the same as you use for email.

Points of note:

*Funds may be requested for initiatives that span one year or two

*Requests must be linked to your Diversity Action Plan

*You should complete the Individual Funding Request Form and submit it to your dean/VP who will compile all requests from your school/unit

*Final funding requests are due from each member of Presidents Council to me by September 23, 2005

TDC is very excited about the opportunities that an expanded funding cycle will allow, particularly for recruitment and retention efforts. Please remember that the funding request process is meant to be inclusive and serve as way for members of your school/unit to come together and think creatively about fostering a dynamic and culturally rich Simmons community.

Your feedback and questions are most welcome.

Diane Felicio Chair, TDC

P.S. Additional information about TDC, our work, and our plans will be distributed at the start of the academic year.
