Alternative Spring Break
APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED to Noon on Friday, October 7
Build homes with Habitat for Humanity! March 4 – 12, 2006

This year Simmons College is sending a group of students on an Alternative Spring Break program with Habitat for Humanity. YOU could be one of those students!

Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Pick up an application outside the Scott/Ross Center, W102 in the MCB. Contact Trip Leader, Ashley Marshall, ashley.marshall@simmons.edu with any questions!

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 12:00 ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7TH!

ASB trips involve spending the week of spring break performing community service. The Simmons team of students and administrators will travel together to work on a service immersion experience on the East Coast. The trip is open to any Simmons student and does not require any construction experience.

Selection:

This is a competitive process. Interested students must return a completed application (attached) to Jennifer McKee in W102. Group interviews will follow. The ASB committee will review applications and notify students by the middle of November.

Logistics:

The trip will run the week of Spring Break. Students will pay a $50 non-refundable fee (due in December, 2005), participate in pre-trip meetings and help the group fundraise to cover trip costs. Food and transportation for the week will be provided.

Weekly meetings will be Wednesdays at 5:30 pm in the Main Campus Building.
