Synopsis:

The conference will discuss the benefits of cleaning and disinfection in homes, schools, daycare centers, sports facilities, and camps etc. to reduce the risk of infection acquisition/transmission and to aid in the prevention and control of allergy-causing molds. The conference will also address issues related to cleaning including antibiotic resistance, the Hygiene Hypothesis, limiting toxicity and on-going research into new solutions. The aim is to present new information and practical approaches.

Speakers include faculty from Simmons College departments of Biology, Nursing, and Health Studies, as well as, speakers from the University of Ottawa (Center for Research on Environmental Microbiology), Harvard School of Public Health, Brigham and Young University, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine among others.
