The utility relocation work for the new School of Management and Quad Project has been moving forward right on schedule. In the past few months we have installed new electrical conduits that will relocate the electrical feeds for the Main Campus Buildings. We are sending this notice to remind everyone of the schedule for shutting down the main campus electrical system to allow us to safely connect to the new electrical duct banks. We have selected dates when there is minimal anticipated activity on campus so that we can minimize inconvenience as much as possible.

Please note: our schedule can be affected by weather. Severe cold, rain, or snow would not allow this work to be performed as planned and would require us to schedule the shutdown for one or more of the alternative dates (listed at the end of this notice).

The current schedule for shutdowns is as follows:

Tuesday, December 27, 2005

All Main Campus Buildings will be closed (One Palace Road, Science Center, Library Building, Main College Building) and no access permitted from 6 AM to 10 PM. There will be no electricity for heat, lighting, computers, office equipment during this time.

Phone service to all Campuses, Simmons web page, WebCT, SOAR, Library resources, email, file server, and other online services should all function normally during the electrical shutdown.
