Due to the electrical shut down scheduled for December 27-28, it is imperative that you shut down all computer equipment before you leave for break. This includes both the computer and monitor. Failure to do so could result in damage to equipment and loss of open files.

If you are scheduled to be in a classroom during the week of December 19-23, the equipment may be turned off when you arrive, as we request that you shut down all of the equipment in that room when you are finished. This includes all components of the instructor's podium: computer, monitor, projector, DVD/VCR and the touch panel. To shut down the computer(s), choose Shut Down from the Windows menu or the Apple menu. To shut down the DVD/VCR and other equipment in the console, press the power button. To shut down the projector, use the touch panel and select either "shut down" or "exit" and, if necessary, confirm your choice by pressing "yes" when asked "are you sure?"

Because we are asking people to shut everything down after using a room, you may find that you need to use equipment in a room and that everything is off. Please make sure the computer and other equipment in the podium is on before you "wake-up" the touch panel. And, please, shut-down the equipment when you are finished. As always, if you need assistance in a classroom or event space, please call Media Services at x2765.

Thank you for your assistance in preparing for the electrical shut down over the break. And have a relaxing time away!
