The Facilities Department has a need to shut down all electricity to the One Palace Road building and the Main College Building during the weekend of July 21st to complete upgrade work associated with the on going construction on campus. We anticipate shutting off the electrical system to these two buildings Friday, July 21 from approximately 11 PM to Saturday 7 AM, if required work cannot be completed during that eight hour shift then the electrical system will be shutdown again on Saturday, July 22 from approximately 11 PM to Sunday 7 AM. There will be no public access allowed to either of these buildings while the electrical system is shutdown. Please shut off all electrical office equipment and devices within these two buildings prior to leaving your office on Friday.
Please note: The only buildings affected by this shutdown are One Palace Road and the Main College Building . All other buildings including Park Science and the library building will remain fully operational electrically.
During the same weekend (July 21st and 22nd) we will also have limited cooling capacity for the Main Campus due to required repairs to the cooling plant. We are working with other College departments to provide cooling where necessary. We do anticipate warm spots in unoccupied areas of all Main Campus buildings (One Palace Road, Main College Building, Library building, Park Science) during that weekend.
We apologize for any inconvenience and are available to assist in minimizing the inconvenience if at all possible. Please contact Steve Gusmini at extension 2243 or steven.gusmini@simmons.edu with any questions, concerns or special cooling requirements you may have for the weekend of July 21st and 22nd.
