We have a great issue of the InfoLink this month! Read it at: http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/resources/publications/il_current.shtml
The cover story, “S.O.S.: Surviving Our Storm,” is a first-person account of what happens when you’ve done everything right, but it still isn’t enough. A huge thank you goes out to GSLIS CE instructor (and also Systems Director at the Historic New Orleans Collection) Chuck Patch for sharing his story.
We’ve also taken a slightly different approach to this month’s Snapshot profile. Rather than highlight one individual, we’ve focused on current student Melissa Brumstead, recent GSLIS grad Sara McGann, and Assistant Dean Denise Davis, all of whom traveled to New Orleans this past June for the American Libraries Association conference — the first major conference, by the way, to be held in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Thank you Melissa, Sara, and Denise for contributing to this issue.
Please feel free to send me any feedback — we’re really proud of this issue, but we also know that there’s always room for improvement. I can be reached at jennifer.doyle@simmons.edu with any comments. Thank you in advance!
