April 4 is the application deadline for Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA) for study abroad during fall 2007 & academic year 2007-08.

Freeman-ASIA offers awards of up to $7,000 to U.S. students needing the financial support to study abroad in East/Southeast Asia. The primary goal of the Freeman-ASIA Program is to increase the number of American undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia by providing them with the information and financial assistance they will need. Awardees are expected to share their experiences with their home campuses to encourage study abroad in Asia by others, and to spread greater understanding of the Asian cultures within their home communities.

For more information, full eligibility criteria, and the online application please access the Freeman-ASIA Program website at http://www.iie.org/freeman-asia.
