From Fortress Europe to the United States of Europe? Recent EU Enlargements and Challenges Ahead
The Department of Political Science & International Relations and the Warburg Program would like to invite you to the fifth Warburg lecture of the spring semester, presented by Professor Ausra Park.
Recent EU enlargements in 2004 and 2007 have fundamentally changed the face of the EU. How did they impact “fortress” Europe? Is the EU becoming the United States of Europe? As nearly all Eastern European countries are now in the EU, what kind of impact has accession to the EU had thus far on these new member- states? The exciting, the good, the bad, and the ugly effects will be briefly addressed in the talk.
This lecture will be held on Tuesday, April 3rd, in Kotzen B at 12:00pm.
Refreshments will be served.
