Acclaimed international journalist, activist and author Irshad Manji will screen her new film, Faith wihtout Fear, and discuss the challenges facing Muslim women in the West. Ms. Manji’s documentary Faith without Fear is based upon her national bestseller, The Trouble with Islam Today, and addresses the challenges of being a progressive Muslim woman as well as the fierce opposition to her unrelenting struggle for authentic self-expression. With Calvin Sims, Struggle for the Soul of Islam: Inside Indonesia, and noted journalist for the New York Times. Moderated by Walter Carrington, former Ambassador to Nigeria and Senegal. Presented by Simmons Institute for Leadership and Change Connecting Simmons to the Community and the Community to Simmons, PBS and Center for New Words. Free and open to the public.
