Springfield, Mass. - Aimee Fullford delivered a two-run single in the fourth and Monica White allowed just one run on three hits over seven innings to lead top-seeded Rivier College to a 2-1 victory over fifth-seeded Simmons College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball tournament action on Saturday, April 28 at Greenleaf Field.

Simmons (19-17) took a 1-0 advantage with a run in the third. With runners on first and third and two out, Natalie West and Ann Talarico completed a double steal, with Talarico coming home to give her team the lead.

Rivier (25-6) came back with two in its next at-bat. Freshman Jillian Robar and junior Nicole Tellier each singled and came home on a base-hit through the hole on the left side by Fullford. White made the lead stand up by allowing just three hits, striking out seven and walking none.

The Sharks, who earned fourth place in the tournament after finishing fifth in the regular season standings, concluded their season 19-17.
