To those who graciously donated to our toiletries drive,
Thank you very much for your recent donation to our toiletries drive. The women and children at the Edwina Martin House gratefully appreciate your donation. The Edwina Martin Houseâs mission is to help recovering women, and their infants, get back on their feet in a safe and nurturing environment after a wide range of disappointments, adversities, and struggles. Through your donations, you are helping them build back their self confidence, self-worth and independence to reach their common goal: recovery.
The Edwina Martin House is one of the only two Massachusetts residences to date that was built specifically to be used for women’s recovery and their infants. The Edwina Martin House is approaching its 25th anniversary which will be a celebration of helping over 4,051 women by providing the necessary emotional and physical support to bridge the gap between struggling and recovering. With continued support, the Edwina Martin House will continue to serve its maximum capacity of 21 women, ages 20-70yrs, and 4 infants. Supporting the Edwina Martin House does not only give back life to many struggling women, it also provides hope for a promising future for their infants as well.
Through the collection drive of toiletries (ie shampoo, toothpaste, soap, razors, tampons, etc) throughout the month of March, we had the ability to greatly help these women. This may seem like a small task but this simple action could have a tremendous effect on the lives of the women you are helping.
Thank you again for your generous donation. The women of the Edwina Martin House as well as the Womenâs Center here at Simmons College appreciate your donation to the toiletries drive.
