Hybrid Course Institute Call for Participants

Would you like to learn how to teach a portion of your course online, offering it in “hybrid” format? Learn how during the Hybrid Course Institute, June 12-14. Sponsored by Academic Technology, representatives from the highly respected UW-M (University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee) Hybrid Course Project will be on hand to guide you through a process of re-designing one of your courses for hybrid delivery.

What’s Involved? First, identify a course that you would like to work on during the institute — preferably one that you will be teaching in the next calendar year. Prior to the Institute, you will receive advance assignments designed to help you get the most out of your time at the institute. You will need to attend all of the full day sessions June 12-14 (9:30-4:30 in P113).

Why Hybrid? A “hybrid” course is one in which students do a portion of their learning online, reducing classroom “seat time.” Hybrid courses are often referred to as the “best of both worlds” because they can be designed to take advantage of the unique opportunities afforded by both the face-to-face and the online learning context. In addition, hybrid courses offer much more flexibility for both faculty and students.
