Megan Conlin Chosen to CoSIDA All-Academic Softball Squad

Boston, Mass. – Simmons College senior outfielder Megan Conlin has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America All-District I Softball Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday, May 10. Conlin was a second-team selection.
Conlin, a two-time All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference second-team selection, batted .303 and ranked second on the team with 30 runs scored. She recorded a league-best 64 putouts in center field and had five outfield assists. Conlin, who has a 3.66 cumulative grade point average, is a member of the National College Athletes Honor Society. She will graduate with a bachelor’s degree political science and sociology next week.
CoSIDA selects Academic All-America teams in 12 programs and All-District teams for eight regions. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average for his/her career. No athlete is eligible until he/she has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution. In the cases of transfers, graduate students and junior college graduates, the athlete must have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution to be eligible.
