The construction of the new building is proceeding on schedule. The final section of the structural steel closest to Palace Road will begin in late September. Within the next two weeks access to the Palace Road garage will be changing to allow for this construction.

The new garage ramp is scheduled to be in use and the existing ramp to be closed on or about Thursday, August 9th. Public Safety and construction personnel will be on the driveway directing drivers to ensure a safe and smooth transition from the old ramp to the new. This is a change to garage access only. Once inside the Palace Road Garage, parking will remain unchanged.

Once the ramp changeover is complete please expect intermittent noise and vibration mostly in the Palace Road building and garage from both the demolition of the existing ramp and the pile driving for the final building section from roughly mid-August through the Labor Day week. Facilities Department staff will be working closely with the construction manager to monitor the impact of these activities and any disruption that results.

Please be aware that towards the end of August, due to the pile driving operation it may be necessary to close the exit driveway to Palace Road intermittently for short periods of time during the work day. Access to and from Avenue Louis Pasteur will be maintained at all times and the exit driveway will always be open after 3:00 on all days.

We will provide specific information and reminders as we get closer to these construction activities.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to make progress on this exciting project.
