TechAlert lifted: Mac users may install OS update

This message is for owners of Macintosh computers, and Simmons staff and faculty who have administrative rights to their Simmons Macintosh computers.
Mac users may install the recent Mac OS X update called “Mac OS X Update (Intel or PPC)” version “10.4.10” However, if you choose to apply this update, be sure to restart your computer, and apply the additional updates that will appear when you choose “Software Update” from the Apple menu.
Technology at Simmons College is not deploying this update yet, because there are still outstanding issues about it being discussed within the broader Mac user community. However, Apple has fixed the most serious effects the update had (through the secondary patches), and many people have successfully applied this update.
