I’m delighted to be able to inform you that we have appointed a new director of the Career Education Center. Andrea Wolf started at Simmons this Monday, August 27. Andrea’s credentials, her experience, and her character make her the ideal person for the position.

Andrea’s most recent position was as a Career Development Manager at Bain and Company, a global business consulting firm. She also worked for six years at Right Management Consultants, where she was Vice President of Career Management Consulting. In that role she designed and delivered executive coaching programs and oversaw the assessment of the career coaching services. In addition, Andrea comes to Simmons with 12 years of higher education experience at Harvard School of Public Health as the Manager of Career Services and later as the Director of Career Services. She has a B.S. from Ohio State University and an M.Ed. from the University of Cincinnati.

It’s highly unusual to find someone who brings both corporate and higher education experience to this position. Andrea’s references all describe her as incredibly bright, hard-working, and visionary, and all mentioned her great integrity. She believes deeply in the Simmons mission and understands the full range of services that we are expecting of the CEC. Further, she will be a wonderful spokesperson for the CEC and the College; she is polished, professional, and well spoken. She has strong technology skills, has enviable networks, thinks strategically, and has extensive management experience.

Andrea is looking forward to moving the CEC to a best practice operation and to providing the best possible service to graduate and undergraduate students and to alumnae/i. She is full of great ideas (already!) and, as you’ll soon see, a delight to work with.

She understands fully that the CEC is a strategic priority and a vital part of our commitment to students and alumnae/i; indeed, she’s looking forward to leading the effort to elevate our services and to link more closely the services of the CEC with the academic programs and priorities.
