Looking for a great new volunteer or community workstudy opportunity? The O’Bryant Gateway to the LMA at the John D. O’Bryant High School for Math and Science is looking for tutors during their extended learning time. Gateway is an academic support and advancement program for a cohort of 52 9th graders at the O’Bryant School, and Simmons is helping support them in this inaugural year.

Tutors are needed from 1-4pm Monday - Thursday in particular subject areas. If you want to help students with Biology or English/Writing, you can volunteer on Mondays, Wednesdays, or both days from 1-4pm. If you are interested in tutoring in Math and History, you can volunteer on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or both days from 1-4pm.

Tutors can get an application by emailing gateway@simmons.edu. Applications are due October 3. Tutors must commit to participating all semester on their selected day(s).

All students looking for a Service Learning or volunteer position are welcome. Students with Federal Work study are eligible for paid employment.

We want YOU to be a part of this exciting new program!

For an application contact: Annie Dunbar at gateway@simmons.edu
