This semester, the Scott/Ross Center is thrilled to support over 350 students and faculty in 16 undergraduate service learning classes in a variety of departments. Service learning students, please read on for available resources/support this week. Others who are interested in our tutoring and afterschool programs, which still have openings, can contact src@simmons.edu.

If you are a service learning student in a placement-based class who is still working to finalize a community partner site, in addition to contacting your professor, please feel free to contact Susie Flug, Associate Director for Undergraduate Service Learning at flug@simmons.edu or 617-521-2477. You can call, email, or come in to talk in person about community partners that are still accepting applications and find a placement that is right for you and your course.

NEW UPDATE If you are a service learning student in one of our tutoring programs at the Farragut Elementary School (America Counts, America Reads, Education Sparks, Farragut Afterschool Program, Farragut Morning Program), please note that you can start your service learning on schedule by attending trainings, tours, and orientations over the next two weeks before on-site tutoring begins. Please see the schedule below.

Many of these programs are still accepting applications for community service workstudy and volunteer positions.

Don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments, ideas, or concerns.
