Austyn Joaquin Named NAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

Boston, Mass. – Sophomore transfer, Austyn Joaquin, was named NAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
Joaquin scored a goal in each of Simmons’ games last week to help the Sharks earn a pair of wins and extend their win streak to three for last week. Joaquin scored in a 3-2 win over Elms on Tuesday and had the lone goal and game-winner in a 1-0 win over Salve Regina on Thursday.
A native of Dartmouth, Mass. and transfer from South Florida, Joaquin has started all 17 games thus far and has tallied six goals and one assist for the Sharks.
The Sharks start post-season play on Saturday Oct. 27 when they travel to Lasell College for a 1:00 p.m. NAC quarter-final match.
