How can you transform (a picture of) yourself into a scary monster?
Don’t miss the chance to find out at “Photoshop for the Ghoulish” this Thursday, October 25, 4-5 pm in the Beatley Library Information Commons. Stop by the Technology Desk on the first floor to find out more, or to sign up for the workshop. Bring a digital picture of yourself on a CD or USB flash drive, or email the photo of your choice to yourself before you come.
For a sample of what you can do with Photoshop, check out the transformation of an ordinary picture at the end of this message, or see the movie.
Start your creation by borrowing a camera from Media Services!
Media Services has digital still and movie cameras available to faculty, staff, and students to borrow for up to seven days. Come by Palace Road P108, and borrow a camera, to start work on your scary monster, or even for your Simmons work!
All Simmons computers include Adobe Photoshop. All of the Macs (except those marked “Express Web Station”) in the Beatley Library Information Commons also include the Apple iLife suite, so you can use iDVD or iMovie.
You’re never too old for tricks or treats!
Starting on Monday, October 29, until Wednesday, October 31, Technology service points will hand out Technology Tricks and Treats at the following locations:
- Technology Desk on the first floor of the Beatley Library Information Commons
- Technology Media Services in P108
- Technology at Simmons College reception desk in L331
- Computer Lab at the SOM at 411 Comm Avenue

Stay tuned for additional Technology Tricks and Treats!
