Community Volunteer Opportunities in Boston and Greater Boston The following volunteer opportunities were sent to the Scott/Ross Center over the past two weeks. We are distributing these requests as a service to our community and the sponsoring of non profits. If you are interested in volunteering, or if you have any questions, you should directly contact the community organization.*
Maafa Mentoring Program
Mentor a youth who needs someone to be a good role model and to genuinely care about him or her. Mentors will be paired with a middle school student and will be asked to commit 10 hours per week to the program. The 10 hours will be spent as follows: 3-4 hours sharing an activity with your mentee, 3-4 hours in a large group activity and learning experience with all of the mentor/mentee pairs, and 2-4 hours planning and preparing for the weekly mentorship and large group sessions. Mentors with work study may be eligible for a stipend.
