MIT is partnering with Amgen UROP Scholars Program this summer. This is a great opportunity if you have a strong interest in science and research in your undergraduate study or planning to pursue a graduate degree in the sciences. You will be participating in a faculty seminar series, a poster session and a mid-summer conference in California. You will also have the opportunity to explore New England and visit regional points of interest. Compensation, Room and Board, and Campus Amenities

The following benefits for Amgen Scholars visiting from other institutions will be covered by a grant from the Amgen Foundation: Weekly research pay. Students working 40 hours per week earn $4,050 for the nine week period, based on $11.25 hourly. Housing in a designated MIT residence hall. Food allowance for use at all on-campus dining facilities. Travel expenses for visiting students to travel to and from Boston, MA, on June 10 and August 8, 2007. July Research Symposium at UCLA: Travel costs to and from Los Angeles; symposium food and lodging.

In addition, Amgen Scholars coming from outside universities will be provided an MIT ID and be given full privileges at the Institute, including access to libraries, residences, athletic and recreational facilities, and dining areas. Moreover, they will have access to all open meetings, presentations, performances, lectures, and other community activities taking place on campus.
