Residence halls and administrative offices on the Residence Campus will participate starting this January in the nationwide recycling competition RecycleMania! The 10-week competition runs January 27 - April 5 in which colleges and universities all over the country compete to see who can collect the largest amount of recyclables per person. Last year, participating schools included Harvard, Wellesley, Boston College, Princeton, Duke, and many others.
BUT that’s not all! Residence Halls will also compete against each other for Simmons Cup points! The list of acceptable recyclables for RecycleMania are:
- Paper - corrugated cardboard, boxboard, catalogs, hard/softbound books, junk mail, magazines, newspapers, office paper and phone books
- Containers - #1 through #7 plastics (i.e., soda, water, juice, laundry detergent bottles), aluminum cans, glass, steel cans
Start spreading the word to your friends and co-workers on the residence campus! Reduce waste and help save the environment!
