BOSTON – Simmons College junior swimmer Keri-Ann Arsenault was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference swimmer of the week this past week after her astounding performance in the GNAC Swim championships this past Saturday. Arsenault won three events, the 1650 yard freestyle, the 500 yard freestyle, and the 200 individual medley. She opened her championship experience with a win in the 1650 freestyle, nearly lapping the entire field, in a time of 19:50.46. She had already qualified for the finals in the 500 freestyle before she took the pool for the mile. Later in the afternoon session she took the 500 freestyle title, in a time of 5:41.36. She closed out her day in grand fashion, when she took first in the 200 IM, in a time of 2:24.09, which was a GNAC meet record. Her efforts helped Simmons clinch a fourth straight GNAC team title. Earlier in the week in a dual meet against Babson, where the Sharks earned a tie, Arsenault won the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:55.29. She also won the 500 yard free, in 5:49.22. She also finished second in the 200 IM. This is the second time this season that she has been honored by the GNAC as the swimmer of the week.
