Simmons swimmer Ellis earns GNAC swimmer of the week honors

For the second straight week the Simmons College swim team earned a player of the week recognition in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, this time it came courtesy of Kaitlyn Ellis (Nantucket, Mass.). The sophomore swimmer had an impressive showing in Saturday’s meet against St. Joseph’s (Conn.) winning two events and a relay. She captured first place in the 100 backstroke as well in a time of 1:09.51. She was also a member of the 200 freestyle relay that finished first in a time of 1:48.39. Ellis and the Sharks are off for the remainder of the semester but will be back in the pool next month to conclude their regular season.
