Mac users: okay to install OS X.4.11 update

This information only concerns users of Macintosh computers.
This is an update to an alert originally sent November 16, 2007.
The Simmons eLearning system has now certified Safari 3.0.4, so Mac users who avoided applying software updates should now apply those updates. Safari 3.0.4 will now pass the Simmons eLearning browser check.

If you do not have an administrative account on your Macintosh computer, you can disregard this message: you cannot install updates.
If you have an administrative account on your Macintosh computer, please go ahead and install the system software update called “Mac OS X Update (Intel or PowerPC) version 10.4.11” released Wednesday, November 14, 2007. Once you have installed the update, pop-up windows will be blocked, which will disable some Simmons eLearning features. The instructions here walk through how to reenable pop-up windows.
The developer of the Simmons eLearning system indicates that another Apple update, Java for Mac OS X 10.4 Release 6, is also certified for use with Simmons eLearning.
