It’s time to gear up and recycle everything … every time! Residence halls and administrative offices on the Residence Campus will participate starting January 27 in the nationwide recycling competition RecycleMania! Colleges and universities across the country will compete for ten weeks from January 27 - April 5 to determine which school can collect the largest amount of recyclables per person. Among the over 380 participating schools are Harvard, Wellesley, Boston College, Stanford, Yale, Duke, and many others.
BUT that’s not all! Residence Halls will also compete against each other for Simmons Cup points! Tops halls in the competition will earn up to 20 points per week. Acceptable recyclables for RecycleMania are:
- Paper - corrugated cardboard, boxboard, catalogs, hard/softbound books, junk mail, magazines, newspapers, office paper and phone books
- Containers - #1 through #7 plastics (i.e., soda, water, juice, laundry detergent bottles), aluminum cans, glass, steel cans
Start spreading the word to your friends and co-workers on the residence campus! Reduce waste and help save our environment!
