Does waiting in long lines to print your papers before class give you the blues? You asked, we listened! Stress not fellow students: the Information Commons in the Beatley Library now has Express Print Stations for your convenience. Now you can print in record-time and still make it to class on time.
Here’s how it works
Four computers on the 1st floor of the Beatley Library Information Commons have been designated as Express Print Stations (look for “express” signs). You will have 5 minutes to print your documents: keep an eye on the computer counter as it counts down from 5 minutes, because if you are still using the computer after 4 minutes and 59 seconds, it will log you out!
There is a printer right next to the express print stations so you can move quickly from computer to printer, and then be on your way. Make sure to bring your ID with you, because still need to swipe it through to finish printing.
For more information, ask the friendly staff at the Technology Desk in the Information Commons.
This is a trial system, so if you like it, or have suggestions about how to make it work more smoothly, please be sure to stop by the Technology Desk and let us know!
For more information about getting the most out of your 350 free printouts per semester, or about public printing at Simmons in general, see Printing Policy and Tips.
