Access: Increasing Opportunities to Higher Education for All Girls. An informative and free workshop for adults who work with girls, to learn the best ways to encourage girls in pursuit of college. The workshop will focus on identifying ways to support academic achievement for girls, discuss ways to overcome barriers preventing girls from attending college, learn the steps of the application and financing a college education, explore the steps of a Journey to College.

Speakers Include: Theresa Perry (Simmons College), Jill McClean Taylor (Simmons College), Rossanna Contreras-Godfrey (Boston College), Jennifer O’Connor Duffy (Suffolk University), Carmen N. Veloria (Suffolk University).

There is no registration fee but an RSVP is required. Please RSVP by Wednesday February 6 to Diane Hammer at diane.hammer@simmons.edu. The event will take place on Friday, February 8th from 8:30am-1:00pm, in the Simmons College Linda K. Paresky Conference Center, a continental breakfast will be provided.

This event is sponsored by Simmons College Institute for Leadership and Change, Offices of Admissions, Financial Services, abd the Registrar, the Boston Centers for Youth and Families, Girls Coalition of Greater Boston, and Sociedad Latina.
