Community Volunteer Opportunities in Boston and Greater Boston

The following volunteer opportunities were sent to the Scott/Ross Center over the past two weeks. We are distributing these requests as a service to our community and the sponsoring of non profits. If you are interested in volunteering, or if you have any questions, you should directly contact the community organization.*

Cambridge Youth Soccer Cambridge Youth Soccer is an independent charitable organization which exists to provide a healthy team sports experience for Cambridge children and youth. Currently CYS provides fall and spring programs for ages 6-14 with an In-Town league and travel teams in the Boston Area Youth Soccer League. They are looking for two coaches for a youth soccer team.

Action for Boston Community Development is looking for individuals who are interested in working with high school students at the Youth Explorations program. Students would serve as tutors for their Math Acceleration program, this program consist of one on one in class tutoring and at the math center.

The Association of Haitian Women in Boston (AFAB) The AFAB is looking volunteer ESL teachers. Ideal applicants will have completed some college, experience in Adult Education, and will have an understanding and desire to work for an organization whose mission is community organizing and activism. General duties would include teaching a morning or evening ESL class from January 29 to May 8, 2008. The classes are held on Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 10-12 PM and evenings 6-8 PM. The center is located in Dorchester.
