Good News. National Nutrition Month is right around the corner!
That’s right, March is National Nutrition Month! This means that
you get the luxury of your friendly nutrition students providing you
with nutrition facts, resources, healthy eating recipes and Much
Much more all throughout the month.
Here’s a little sneak peak of what is to come in March 2008:
Fact Or Fiction? Fresh fruits and vegetables are healthier than frozen or canned.
This statement is a Myth. The Fact is that research shows frozen
and canned foods are as nutritious as fresh. In fact, since
lycopene is more easily absorbed in the body after it has been
processed, canned tomatoes, corn and carrots are sometimes better
nutrition choices. This makes getting your 3-5 vegetable servings
per day easy, especially if you have no time to cook or if you just
can’t seem to find the kitchen.
Stay tuned for more nutrition facts coming up in March (there will
be some good news for chocolate lovers, but you’ll have to wait
until March for that one, we can’t give all of our secrets at once).
