The Office of Undergraduate Admission is currently looking to hire two new Campus Visit Interns. The two applicants will train with the current Campus Visit Interns beginning sometime in March; they will officially take over the title and position beginning in September 2008. Each intern will then be working about 10-15 hours a week on average, though more hours are required during busy times of year (February and April).

The position consists of planning both day and overnight visits for prospective students, including freshmen, transfer students and Dix Scholars. Once the visit request has been received, the Intern must plan and schedule multiple activities for the prospective student. This requires a great deal of communication with professors, current Simmons students, and other Simmons offices. Other duties include training new day and overnight hosts, providing any help needed to the supervising Admission counselor, and participating in Undergraduate Admission events such as Open Houses in the fall and President’s Receptions in the spring (on Saturdays or Sundays).

Required: MUST love Simmons College, organized, detail oriented, team player, excellent communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, minimum 3.0 GPA, willingness to be “on call” nights Monday-Thursday, ability to manage multiple deadlines

Desired: Rising sophomore, work-study preferred, living on campus, involved in various campus activities, have a working knowledge of AARC, comfortable dealing with the public

This position has the ability to grow and encompass different aspects of the Undergraduate Admission Office, including giving campus tours, front desk work, and general summer employment.

Please contact Alex Rowen & Marley Hanson at visit@simmons.edu to request an application.
