Congratulations to Emily Slocum! Emily’s entry was selected in the random drawing from the Simmons Entrepreneurship Program survey. Her prize is a special edition (RED) iPod shuffle.
The purchase of the (RED) iPod also contributed funds to help fight AIDS in Africa — see http://www.joinred.com for more information. Product (RED) itself is a wonderful example of entrepreneurship; it’s a new “more-than-for-profit” organization started by U2’s Bono that harnesses the power of consumerism to raise funds for the prevention and treatment of AIDS in Africa.
We really appreciate everyone who participated in the Entrepreneurship survey. The survey helped our research on women and careers in business. Results will also be used to help design courses at Simmons to meet students’ interests.
