Join Jumpstart in donating baskets to appreciate the teachers and classrooms we work in in Jamaica Plain.

What is a basket of love? It‒s a basket filled with school supplies, children’€™s books, arts and crafts materials and gifts for teachers, to ensure that the Jumpstart children will have a more well supplied and literacy enriched classroom environment in which to learn.

What can I do? We ask that you contribute what you can: markers, children’€™s books, crayons, craft kits, coffee mugs, observation journals or other items off the list of what is needed by the teachers and classrooms, and place them into the box in your department or in the Scott/Ross Center for Community Service. We will gather the items and put together baskets for the children that we serve.

Student organizations and clubs are encouraged to get involved as we give appreciation to the dedicated teachers that make our Jumpstart classrooms shine!

We are trying to get all supplies together by April 11th, 2008.

Any questions may be directed to: Volunteer Coordinator, Carolyn Swanhall (swanhall@simmons.edu)

Thank you for your participation!
