Simmons Meditation group will be meeting Monday, April 14th from 12:15-12:45 in the student activities conference room in the MCB.

Why meditate? Meditation is way to slow down the racing thoughts we experience during the day and begin to cultivate a new awareness of ourselves. Meditation can bring a sense of inner peace and elicit the relaxation response. Studies show those who develop a regular meditation practice improve functioning of the immune system, increase memory, help insomnia, and work to heal such diseases has IBS, PUD, and headaches. The 30 minutes we meet will consist of a lesson in basic meditation technique, a 15 minute meditation, followed by a brief reflection. There is no cost to attend but lots of benefits to be received!
