Two Social Justice paid internships are available for summer 2008. With a stipend of $2500, the internships are designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn from meaningful work in a community-based organization oriented toward social justice. They provide an excellent opportunity for students to learn effective organizing strategies, develop their problem solving skills, develop their knowledge base in a substantive social justice area, understand challenges community-based organizations face in carrying out social justice work, and contribute to the organizational mission of a community partner.
Applications are due to Professor Carole Biewener (E203) by 12:00 on Monday, April 14. To be eligible, students must have completed SJ 220 and SJ 222. Preference will be given to those who will be Simmons students in the fall 2008 semester.
