The end of your journey on the yellow brook road is right around the bend.
Technology at Simmons wants to ensure that the software you need for your fall 2008 courses is installed prior to the start of the semester. If you want software installed on any lab, general access, or classroom computers, we need to receive your request by June 6, 2008. If you want your software installed on one or two classroom instructor’s stations before the beginning of fall classes, we need to receive your request by August 8, 2008.
Don’t let your rusty software slow you down this fall.
By fall 2008, all Simmons classrooms and general access spaces (e.g. the Library Information Commons, SOM Lab and the labs on the residence campus) will have Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007, or Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and Microsoft Office 2008. We need to make sure that the software you request is compatible with the new operating system(s), and with the Office suite(s), if there is a tie-in. To avoid putting Simmons computers are risk, we cannot install software that is not compatible with Windows Vista or Mac Leopard.
Before you begin testing, please check with the manufacturer of the software to see whether you need to upgrade your software in order to ensure compatibility. We have a test station available where you can install your software (with or without Help Desk assistance). To reserve a time to use the Test Station, call the Help Desk at 617-521-2222, option 8; be sure you have your installation media and licensing information with you when you come!
Ready to complete your journey on the yellow brook road?
