This past week, Technology replaced Simmons’ email infrastructure, upgrading server hardware and software. Around 11,000 accounts were migrated containing over two million messages. During the process, some problems with Simmons Webmail were discovered and fixed, including issues with bringing address books to the new system. At this time, we believe that all email issues related to the upgrade have been resolved. We thank you for your patience during this time.
Webmail now supports the setting of forwarding addresses and vacation messages. Setting forwarding and vacation messages is now accomplished by logging into Simmons Webmail, https://email.simmons.edu, and clicking on the “Filters” icon, followed by the “Forward” or “Vacation” icons. Since these functions are available through webmail, they have been removed from Simmons Preferences site, http://preferences.simmons.edu. The new Preferences site will still be used for changing your Simmons password and setting your spam filter level.
