Here’s a quick look at upcoming CEC events scheduled for the week of 10/20/2008 - 10/27/2008:
- Employer Information Table: Staples, Inc. Monday, October 20th, 11:00 am-2:00 pm, Fens Lobby, MCB Lower Level Staples Inc., based in Framingham, MA and the world’s largest office products company, is coming to campus to give students information about opportunities with their organization. If you are interested in an internship, job or career in retail with one of the area’s leading companies, be sure to stop by and bring a resume.
- Employer Information Table: Boston Kaplan Center Tuesday, October 21st, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, Fens Lobby MCB Lower Level Kaplan Test Prep & Admissions centers provide support to students during their transition from high school to college and beyond. Representatives from the Boston Kaplan Center will be on campus to talk with students interested in working as a Kaplan teacher or tutor, part- or full-time. - Off-campus Career Events: Boston Diversity Leadership Forum Tuesday, October 21st, 5:00 - 8:00 pm Radisson Hotel Boston, 200 Stuart Street, Boston Already the most extensive diversity outreach recruiting initiative in America, the Diversity Leaders Forum comes to Boston this fall! Presented by the Walt Disney Company, this event will bring many of country’s top employers, including Fidelity Investments, Eaton Corporation, Campell soup, Abbott Labs, Oracle, Cisco, Honeywell Aerospace, Wal-Mart, Bayer HealthCare- Consumer Care, Whirlpool International, Cisco Systems, Oracle, Alston Power and more. - FOUR-STEP CAREER DEVELOPMENT SERIES: Preparation: Writing a Powerful Resume and Cover Letter Wednesday, October 22nd, 3:30-5:00pm Career Resource Library: One Palace Road, 304E Take the mystery out of building these important marketing tools, and increase your chances of landing an interview. Learn what to include in a resume, and how to develop powerful accomplishment statements. Get inside tips on how to customize your cover letters to fit job requirements.
- Communications Career Information Exchange Wednesday October 22, 5:30-7:30pm Suffolk University Law School, 1st Floor Conference Room, 120 Tremont St, Boston Calling all communication majors! And any other Simmons students interested in the field. Learn about communications careers from professionals in the industry. Find out what it’s like to work for public relations and advertising agencies; print, TV, and radio journalism; marketing and event management; corporate communications; web and Internet publishing; and more. Note: this is an educational networking event, not a job fair. Sponsored by the College Career Centers of Boston (CCCOB).
- Off-campus Career Events: Converse Open House Thursday, October 23rd, 3:00 - 7:00 pm Converse Headquarters, 1 High Street, North Andover, MA Love the shoes, want the job? - Employer Information Session: Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories Monday, October 27th, 3:00-4:30 pm, Lefavour Building, Room 428 Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories is a unit of the UMass Medical School. They are an FDA-licensed site for the manufacture of vaccines and other medicines. They have full-time and internship positions in the research, clinical, administration, and IT areas and are interested in meeting with science and other majors.
