Would you like to spend a day in an information center or special library? Think of it as a one-day internship or perhaps as a chance to visit a new type of library or information center before you decide where you want to work after graduation. The Boston Chapter of the Special Libraries Association will once again conduct its annual Day on the Job in March and April 2005. This program enables you to experience a "typical" day in a special library.

During February 2005, we will match students as closely as possible with a library in a subject specialty of their choice. Placement preferences will be granted based on the number of courses taken to date and intended date of graduation as well as host library availability. You may request to visit more than one library or information center. We will announce placements in early March 2005. Your host(s) will then contact you to make arrangements for your visit. Only name, email addresses, and telephone numbers will be provided to the host libraries. SLA membership is not a requirement for participation in the "Day on the Job" program.

Please sign up at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=10551851665. Deadline for application is February 28, 2005.
