GSLIS Students - Final Reminder: May and August 2005 Graduates

Petitions to graduate for all students planning to complete the program in either May or August 2005 must be submitted to the GSLIS Administrative Office (room P111) by Monday, March 14. You may also fax the form to 617-521-3192 or mail it to: GSLIS Admission, 300 The Fenway, Boston, MA 01225, Attn: Graduation.

This is the FINAL call for petitions from May graduates. If you do not submit a petition by March 14, your graduation date may be delayed. Any student who is planning to finish the program in August but is unsure should submit the petition regardless. If your graduation date changes, please submit a new petition with the new graduation date.

PLEASE NOTE: The May 2005 commencement ceremony is open only to those students who will finish the program by the end of the spring 2005 term. Students graduating in August 2005 will be invited to participate in the May 2006 ceremony. No exceptions.

COMMENCEMENT 2005 Saturday, May 14, 2005 10 am at the Bayside Expo Center (graduates must report by 8:45 am) This May, Simmons will celebrate its 100th commencement! In honor of this milestone, commencement exercises will be held in a new location with a new format. Tickets are not necessary to attend the commencement exercises.

The Bayside Expo Center was selected because it can accommodate all of our graduates and their guests, while still maintaining an intimate setting. Directions to Bayside Expo Center are available at http://www.baysideexpo.com . Each graduate will receive up to 2 parking permits, allowing them to park in the Bayside Expo Center lot. These permits will cost $12 each, and will be payable at the Expo Center lot.

Caps and gowns will be available for purchase from the Simmons College Bookstore beginning May 1st. Prices are still to be determined.

Photographs will be taken by Commencement Photos, Inc. and will be available for purchase by graduates and their families.
