Greeting Folks,

Just a couple of things ……

Article Linker

It's getting close to the end of the semester. As the deadlines start to loom increasingly larger and time becomes more precious, it's easy to forget procedures and policies regarding library resources and services. That's OK. It happens to just about everyone every semester. I want to take a moment, however, and remind you that the answers to many of your basic questions regarding policies and procedures can be found at the GSLIS at Mount Holyoke Library Resources and Services web site located at http://www.simmons.edu/libraries/gslis/gsliswest/index.html. For instance, need to get a book from the Simmons library? Click on the "Borrowing Books" link. Trying to remember how to find full text articles? Click the "Finding Article" link. Trying to find that Article Request Form? Check the "Resource and Services Quicklist" for the link. You get the idea.

The reason I'm bringing this up now is not to discourage you from e-mailing me your questions. You should always feel free to send me an e-mail if you need help. At this point in the semester, however, time is of the essence so if you can find the answer to your question on the GSLIS at Mount Holyoke Library Resources and Services page instead of having to wait for me to reply to your e-mail, then that would be the fastest way to go. Give it a try and then contact me if you need more help.

Summer Hours at MHC

I'd like to take a little informal poll to find out how many people would be interested in attending workshops during the summer. If you think that you would, please send me an e-mail. If you can think of the name of a workshop that you would like to see offered (please limit suggestions to the topics offered during the fall/spring semester like DIALOG, RefWorks, etc.) please include that as well. If you would rather just attend an open reference session where we would talk about whatever you needed help on, you could put that down instead.

I'm not sure what day these workshops would be offered or the time at this point. I'm just interested in seeing if there is some demand.

Thanks for all of your help with these two items and HANG IN THERE. You're almost done!

Gary
