Tentative Fall 2005 Course Listing

The second draft of the tentative course roster for the Fall 2005 semester is now posted on the website at: http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/courses/schedules/05/bos_05_fa.shtml
Please note the following: *no courses were dropped from the list *four courses were ADDED, namely
*LIS420 Modern Publishing & Librarianship *LIS428 U.S. Government as Publisher (new title) *LIS441 Appraisal of Archives and Manuscripts (formerly 520W) *LIS443 Archives, History & Collective Memory (formerly 531C)
I can confirm these courses will be on the final schedule.
Also, note these classes that will NOT appear on the final fall schedule, although they have been offered during the fall semester other years:
*LIS416 Organization of Nonprint Materials *LIS418 Technical Services *LIS421 Social Informatics (new title) - Professor Peek on sabbatical *LIS447 Collection Maintenance (new title; formerly Basic Materials Repair *LIS451 Academic Libraries (spring 06) *LIS478 Information Entrepreneurship (formerly 530L) *LIS484 Literature of Science & Technology (spring 06, at MIT)
The final schedule will be posted by July 1, and registration will begin on Tuesday, July 12 (the latter is a change from the start date listed previously, Monday, July 11).
