Dear GSLIS students -

The fall 05 schedule -BOSTON- is now available through SOAR, and can also be found on the GSLIS web site at: http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/courses/schedules/05/bos_05_fa.shtml

Mount Holyoke’s schedule is available on the GSLIS website at: http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/courses/schedules/05/mhc_05_fa.shtml

It will be posted to SOAR ASAP following this holiday weekend.

SOAR Registration will begin on Tuesday, July 12 at 10AM and end on Friday, July 15 at 10AM. Please visit http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/courses/registration/current-students.shtml#schedule to view the entire schedule. Any student who is unable to register by 10AM on Friday, July 15 will need to submit a paper registration form to the GSLIS office, room P111 or via fax, 617-521-3192.

As a reminder, first term students are required to complete the TOR and submit an advising statement by 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5. Any first term student who does not meet this deadline will have a registration block placed on her/his account.

IMPORTANT: Everyone is advised to use your acute attention to detail when registering for the fall semester. There will be two synonym numbers for each course offered, one for 4 credits, one for 3 credits. Please be sure you enter the correct synonym # so you are registered for your preferred number of credit hours per class. You’ll also note that many courses have new course numbers and/or titles.

INTRODUCING WISE: A new course option for students who have already taken a minimum of 12 credit hours prior to fall 05. WISE courses may be taken for three credits only. See http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/courses/curriculum/wise.shtml for an explanation of what WISE is and how it relates to GSLIS students.

FINAL NOTE: Due to various circumstances, minimal changes to the schedule may occur between July 1 and the opening of fall registration on July 12. Every effort will be made to alert you of such changes via this channel as well as the web site, although they will be reflected in SOAR the moment registrar office personnel process our GSLIS request(s).

Good news - these possible changes will be additions, not deletions, of courses!
