Simmons has set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) that all current students have access to. The VPN is a server where you can store your work so that you can access it from anywhere that has an Internet connection. This very convenient when you are working on files at home and want to access them on campus or vis versa. It is backed up each evening - making it a very secure place to store all your work.
Each student has their own private folder on the network and there is also public space available so that you can share your work with classmates or groups project members. For direction for using the VPN go to http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/techlab/docs/remote_vpn.pdf.
Your login is your email user name and your id number unless you changed it. To have changed it, you had to have logged into a computer on the Simmons campus in Boston.
If you have any questions or difficulties using this service, please email Kris Foti directly at foti@simmons.edu.
