Library & Archives Summer Internship

DiMella Shaffer invites applications for a full-time paid internship for the summer of 2006. The position is designed to provide practical experience for a graduate student interested in pursuing a career in a corporate library/archives setting.
Projects may include:
- The appraising, cataloging, and transfer to offsite storage of architectural project records and drawings
- Digitization project of hand drawn architectural renderings
- Cataloging and Weeding of Vendor Product Catalogs
- All facets involved in a Library/Archive move
Requirements: The intern must be enrolled in an advanced degree program in library sciences and have completed LIS 415: Information Organization (or a comparable course). Applicants must be detail-oriented, have good organizational and communication skills, be familiar with MS Office applications, and be able to lift and carry a 30-pound box. Archives/Records management coursework and experience with FileMaker Pro is preferred.
