Dear students,

Coming into the home stretch* for Fall 2006 Boston campus courses…

One course has been added:

  • LIS 493-01 (Intellectual Freedom) - Tuesday mornings, 9:30 - 12:30 (Instructor: TBA)

Some courses have had changes to day, time, and/or instructor:

  • LIS 415-01 (Information Organization): Tuesday night section: instructor moved to TBA (replaces Joudrey)
  • LIS 415-03 (Information Organization): Thursday afternoons: will be taught by Joudrey (replaces Schwartz)
  • LIS 417-01 (Cataloging and Classification): changed from Thursday nights to Tuesday nights; Joudrey is instructor

And a few more notes:

I am sorry to say that we will not be able to offer LIS 451 (Academic Libraries) in the fall; this course will be offered in the spring.

Conversely, two other classes that are typically offered in the spring are being offered in the fall instead: LIS 413 (Literature of the Humanities) and LIS 422 (Literacy and Services to Underserved Populations).

I realize the clock is ticking, but we still don’t have final information on two sections of 403 (sections 1 and 3) or the possible morning section of 404. I will let you know as soon as I have news.

The changes noted in this email will be posted to the website (http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/courses/schedules/06/bos_06_fa.shtml) and SOAR on Thursday. If there is anything I’ve neglected to mention, or if you have any particular questions, please let me know.

Best,
Jen

I’ll take this opportunity to remind everyone that registration begins on Tuesday, April 18, thus my use of the technical term “home stretch.”
